By combining colourful Caribbean style with
quirky antiques and flea market finds from
Europe the owners have created an aesthetic,
highly individual dwelling that delightfully
complements the spectacular location.
Kerensa was carefully designed to have minimal impact on the beautiful
natural setting and take full advantage of the stunning panoramic views over
the Islands and Bays of the North Shore. Far away from other houses the
only sounds you’ll hear arethe waves breaking on the rocks belowhouses,
the only
sounds
you’ll
hear
are the
waves on the rocks
below....
Perched on a hillside above a
secluded Bay on Tortola’s
North West coast and situated
amongst large boulders and
mature trees, is the uniquely
idyllic retreat of “Kerensa”.
Completed in 2004, the house
is built on a private 2 acre
estate bordering Mount Healthy
National Park.
The house is simple , comfortable and well
equiped with accomodation consisting of
one-bedroom, a bathroom, dining area
and a kitchen / living room together with a
covered verandah , a brick courtyard and
wooden decks around an infinity edge
pool and hot-tub area
Close by are the magnificent beaches of, Brewers Bay (3 minutes
drive) featuring an uncrowded half mile of golden sand and superb
snorkeling, and Cane Garden Bay (10 minutes) with its' famous
beach and plethora of lively bars and restaurants. Kerensa is
centrally situated to explore the island. Roadtown (the capital) is
15 minutes over the hill on the South Shore. Access from the
public road is along a ¼ mile unpaved track (a 4WD vehicle is
strongly advised). Parking has been deliberately sited away from
the house to preserve the natural ambience with a series of steps
(39 to be precise!) leading down to the house.
